kennebec river crossing

Aldridge was contracted to install 12 new drilled shaft foundations to support four monopoles and two lattice towers on the Central Maine Power Line. In addition to the replacement of the aging structures, the new span over the Kennebec River resolved issues of proper, safe clearances between the line and the water and treetops.

Aldridge was responsible for a turn-key installation of the foundations. The excavation was through strong rock, the shaft concrete was poured and eight rock anchors were installed for each of the shafts for the lattice towers.   A school and the river were both in close proximity to the work site requiring careful consideration in the planning and execution of the work to minimize any impacts.
